Swallowtail - Take 2

Here's the start of my 2nd Swallowtail by Evelyn A Clark, I really enjoy this pattern I have to admit.....
The photo isn't very good colourwise but the yarn is from Yarn Treehouse. I have only good things to say about both the yarn and the seller. Her prices are reasonable for both yarn and postage and the service is good.
The yarn is lovely to knit with and this will be the 3rd time I've knit with it. My 1st Swallowtail was done with her Lace Merino Classic (which I dyed myself) and then recently I knit Hanami with the same Lace Merino Print as the current Swallowtail. In all three cases I have wound two balls together and knit with the yarn held double thoughout to give the correct guage.... In the case of the Lace Merino Print as the colour changes are very subtle and gradual it doesn't really cause any problems that the two yarns when held together are at different colour changes, in my opinion it creates a whole new different colourway.....

That's really pretty, lovely soft colour. How big will it be when it's finished?

It's lovely, but I don't see much colorwaying going on.

Went to I Knit tonight. Not much there, but I did buy some British knitting mags. They are quite odd--more exclamation points and contests than a scandal sheet!!!!

It looks gorgeous. :)

(Came to comment and got distracted by Fleegle's comment about UK knitting mags which has me giggling.)

I am considering making a Swallowtail as a Christmas gift -- for some reason I've come across a few on blogs over the past couple of days. All gorgeous and all quite different depending on the yarn/colour.

Hello, coming over from Lacefreak's link to you. Thanks for the heads up on a lace yarn source, always needed and appreciated:) And the swallowtail is looking wonderful!! Terry

it is a fun pattern, I keep thinking about making another one, especially as it's so small and doesn't use much yarn for the impressiveness of it!

Love the colour you've chosen.

I love fuzzy yarns for many of these simple shawl patterns. I wouldn't use mohair for Neiblings, but for the Moth, Swallowtail, and the like, there's not much pattern going on, and I think the fuzziness adds a bit of interest to knitting what would otherwise be a bit dull.

One of the ladies in the class showed up with a bad cold, even though she was told not to do that because of my medications. Sick now and it will take me months to get rid of it. Miserable week of rest.

Swallowtail is looking lovely. I've wanted to make this one for a while but it just keeps getting pushed down in my "To DO" list.

The Alpine swatch looks really nice. It's going to make a stunning stole.

Ooh, very nice. I do love this pattern, although I don't think I'm in a hurry to do a 2nd one. (Still too many other great lace patterns to try, as you know!)

I have bookmarked that yarn supplier, too, it's always nice to hear a recommendation.
