Swallowtail 2

Here as promised is the finished photos of my 2nd Swallowtail.....

Blocking

A couple of close up of the detail

Post-Blocking
The yarn is from Yarn Treehouse and is the Lace Merino Print, colour C03. To give the correct guage for the pattern I used two strands held together on 3.5mm Addi Lace circular. If I had just knit this on it's own I think I would have had it done in a week so I find it a quick knit. I did however this time make silly mistakes on the body of the shawl, but found the two Lily of the Valley borders easier and the Nupps didn't seem a problem. The only thing I can put the Nupps being easier down to is that this time I had my Lace Addi's.....

On the non-lace knitting front, namely socks.... I have completed my Uncle Harry's christmas present - Opal Elemente , colour 1077 (now no longer available)

Truly lovely, LittleBerry. Thank you for posting the eye candy.

I tried knitting with that stuff once and found it a bit scratchy. What did you think of the yarn?

I don't find it too scratchy... but I can see where you are coming from, it isn't as soft as some of the merino's or the other two lace yarns she has.....

The Swallowtail looks great.

And I'm very envious of the first completed Christmas gift....I'm going to try very hard not to leave everything to the last minute this year.

I love the color changes! Beautiful!

Thanks for posting about the Colormart yarn for Princess!
Nice to know it shrinks lengthwise when boiling water is added.
I like the way it bloomed too!
I haven't decided which yarn I'm using.

Just lovely. Thanks for sharing with us. I can't imagine I didn't know about this yarn sooner.

Thanks

Swallowtail is lovely and the colour shifts work really well. Wow, you've already started on Christmas gifts! It's way too hot, here, for me to even start thinking about Christmas.

It's going to finish me off!

I actually thought the horsey was hideous and I would go insane knitting all that boring background. So far, it's unanimous, except for Kenny, who liked it!
