The Big 40

No I'm not 40, that's at least a couple of years away yet!!!

I completed my 40th pair of socks last night some two and half years after knitting my first pair of socks and rightly so they are for me!!!

They are Lorna's Laces "Black Purl" a Christmas present from DH last year; it's not the 1st time I've knitted LL socks, but they are the 1st pair that are mine, all mine!!!

Now, I have to show you these, they are so cute, they are unbelievably cute!!!

I recently did a swap on the "Crafty Threads 'n' Yarns" forum with Sprite aka Sharon or you may know her products "Yarnanimals" (you can get a link to her Etsy shop from her website Daily Drivel). I sent her some yarn and she sent me these....

They're made of Fimo, I really do not know how she has the patience to fiddle with something like this so small; these are sock markers and are small enough not to get in the way of my sock knitting :=0; I don't like big stitch markers they get in the way more often than not...

Below is the detail on the black one, those feet are actually thin slivers of Fimo.....

So thank you once again Sharon...

Lastly The Yarn Wench went and updated last weekend... I couldn't resist..... and these arrived this morning - Songbird 1 and Last Tango 2, both Falkland fibre.....

I have to say Lynn's fibre is well priced even shipping to the UK from the states is reasonable too. I've discovered if I buy in twos I escape that nasty import duty and even worse the Royal Mail's mandatory £8.00 handling charge!!!!!!!

Her fibre comes in a self seal bag lablelled with all the fibre details and then is shipped in a cardboard box so it doesn't get squashed which means I can take it straight out the bag and spin with virtually no preparation at all.... :o)

Have a nice weekend everyone

I don't use stitch markers, but those are so adorable I might just have to start ;-)

Hey - your yarnimal photos are great! Tricky little chaps to photograph ;-) Glad you like them. I must get working on my knitting course - I've got no excuses now. 40 pairs of socks eh - good grief! I need to learn to knit faster.

What cute stitch markers and what amazing attention to detail!

I love the Yarn Wench. I have to be careful when she updates. Otherwise I'd be neck high in her fiber. :)
